Mission: Licking our wounds
Location: Security offices

Walking down the corridors of the ship, there was still battle scars, torched walls, where the boarders blasted the walls. Missing components such as doors, were a common sight. Walking up to the door way, which was missing such a door was his chief security/Tactical. He knew that he would probably be blaming himself for losing so many people during the boarding, and he wouldn't blame him. But he also knew with the advanced weaponry of the Iconians... even the Tokyo was no match.

Since the chime didn't work, he knocked on the door frame, and awaited an answer.

Qual'tez had been going over new tactics to run with his security team. This was based on what they had experienced during the boarding party with the Iconians. His thoughts were interrupted by a knock on what was left of his door. Looking up, Jones spotted the Captain and immediately stood to his feet. "Captain," the Commander simply replied. There was a certain tone that lacked a bit of his usual confidence.

"At ease Commander." He replied as he walked in moving some debris to the side. "Just come to see how you are doing."

Relaxing a bit, he took a breath. "Just trying to put together some new tactics. And too be honest, I'm not doing that good mentally. Never have I lost this many people."

"The federation lost a great deal today not just us." Alexander replied as he took a seat. "But I understand where you are coming from. It is never easy to lose even a single person under your watch. It won't be your last either unfortunately. But we can learn, and prevent something similiar. Steps you have already taken. So I ain't worried about you as my Chief Security Officer."

"Thank you, Captain," Jones replied. "Those words actually mean a lot coming from you. Any idea how Starfleet wishes to respond to the Iconians?"

"Right now, we have to pick up the pieces. But there is going to be questions. Something I intend to fully investigate."

"What do you need from me?"

"Just your full confidence. I know the Klingon in you wants blood, but we cannot go into this for revenge... it will only get us killed faster."

Taking a deep breath, Qual'tez calmed himself. The Klingon in him definitely wanted to kill all Iconians on sight. One would assume being part Human or growing up around other Humans would curb that urge. Too much of his father in him. A man that, he never even met. "You have that full confidence, Captain. Revenge is not the answer to this problem."

"It will be, in the appropriate time and place." He assured, "Just need a level head until that time comes."

Taking a seat across from the Captain, Qual'tez mind was thinking about the next steps for the Iroquois. "How long until we can get back into the fight?"

"Couple of weeks til the ship is worthy again, but we will have our chance."

"When is Starfleet sending additional personnel?"

"We still need to get to spacedock to figure everything out." Alexander replied. "But be sure, you will have ample personnel, and weaponry."

Qual'tez handed a PADD over to the Captain. "That's my list for the repairs to security, weapons needed and replacement personnel."

Looking the list over. "I will hand this over to the proper people once at starbase."

"Anything else?"

"Thats everything. Ill let you be take this time to relax."

The Security Chief nodded. "Thank you, Sir."
