Captains log
Its been a long few days, we are about ready to ship out, our first destination is to rendez-vous with the fleet, where we will get representatives from numerous delegations. Including Breen, the Gorn and the Tholians... though they will only be as observers for now. Maybe in the future, they will become allies in the fight against the Iconians. For now they will just gather intel. Is it a risk... it always is, in my time as a Commanding Officer negotiations always come with risk, although never so high as it is now. With the Klingons and Romulans, its a no brainer, the Klingons, have lost a lot, and the romulans, the general public are against them, and we have been assured that we can at the very least expect some sort of assistance with them. However its the Tal shiar that we have to be worried about. Those working with the Iconians, directly or indirectly, is one of the security issues we face at the moment.
The crew, although most of them are new, our new XO, recently promoted to Commander, I have the utmost faith in her, that she will fill the gap left by our previous. With the utmost skill. She has big boots to fill, however I am confident those shoes will fit nicely.
Our new Helmsman... shes quite the character, and shes been through a lot. One of only three survivors of the Akagi. Losing that many friends colleagues, can be hard, I will make sure she will be in contact with our counselling dept as soon as everything settles, if she doesnt voluntarily go now.
Security, Lt Commander Jones. As a former security officer myself as well as him being part klingon. I can't begin to fathom how such loss we have had in the past few weeks, affects him. A klingon would rather go down fighting than to be a survivor of a mass casualty incident.
Our chief medical officer... she is managing, although I know for a fact that Doctors are the worst patients, and I will have Lt Johnson report to her to at least see how she is doing.
As for the others. we still need a few chiefs, a few are being looked at internally, but with our losses. A lot of them do not have the experience, or the mentality to take charge. Not saying the ones left are bad, but the battle took out quite a lot, both physically, and mentally. It wasn't easy taking the hit, luckily being married to a counsellor, I have sessions every day. Being able to talk, being able to be with our daughter.
Im going to be meeting with Commanders Summers and Jones, within the hour to determine how things are progressing into preparing the ship for our guests. Including those which up to a few months ago, we were in hostilities with.
