General Overview		Samuel is rather gruff while on duty. He has high expectations of his subordinates and he makes no bones about letting them know. He is also somewhat of a stickler for Starfleet regulations. He will do his damnedest to earn respect even if you hate his guts for it. To date, only his wife and daughter has seen his softer side.
Hobbies & Interests		Hobbies: bowling, darts, dom-jot, billiards, poker, drinking, Kung Fu, Jujitsu, Judo, drinking, telling old war stories, drinking, dressing down insubordinate 'punk' ensigns, drinking, quoting Starfleet rules and regulations... was it mentioned he likes to go on a bender now and then? (He is trying to quit though)... (of course, some of these hobbies were "toned down" once he found out he had a daughter).

Personal History		Personal History: Samuel was born to Joseph and Denise Arrow, both career Starfleet officers who were serving on the USS Cleveland when they were killed during a first contact mission that went awry. Because of that, Sam is somewhat prejudiced against non-Federation species. An investigation proved that the deaths of his parents and others on the mission were due to the Cleveland's Captain 'not quite' following first contact protocols to the letter, hence, Sam's strict adherence to rules and regulations. Samuel entered Starfleet Academy when he turned eighteen a year after his parent's deaths. Always having been an excellent student, he breezed through with several commendations. He graduated at the top of his class with a specialty in security. He served with distinction being the model security officer on the Tripoli, Trieste and Yamato. Samuel was known to be fiercely loyal to his commanders and crewmates while at the same time being known for not suffering fools and troublemakers lightly. Samuel was one of six survivors when the Kyushu was destroyed during a battle with an unknown adversary in 2383. His next posting met a similair fate in the Lembatta Cluster. The USS Farragut was destroyed during a Klingon offensive in 2389 while evacuating colonists from Ajilon Prime. Sam credits his still being alive today on discipline, a healthy respect for regulations and his own cunning. After two harrowing experiences in space, counselors thought a planet-side posting might be in order. So, Samuel took a posting as an Academy Instructor teaching 'Survival in Hostile Environments and Physical Education. He put many, many young cadets to the test making at least half of them cry at one point. Of course the majority of his curriculum consisted of learning the rules and regulations of survival skills. The students that actually passed his courses later thank him for his gruffness and hardline teaching style. After a while the siren of space travel called him again. To update his skills, Sam attended the Starfleet Tactical Command School in Glasgow. After graduating, again at the top of the class, he earned a posting on the USS Ulysses and eventually became the ship's first officer under the command of Captain Garrison. Samuel was six months from gaining a command of his own when he ran into a particularly stubborn, hard headed ensign. The two men had it out one day like a drill sergeant and private in the old days. Of course Sam got the best of the young punk but later found out the ensign was an admiral's nephew. Oops. Samuel's new assignment to the K'Hotan is twofold: Learn to chill out and to dry up. Sam's time on the K'Hotan didn't quite go as planned. The ship had an extremely lax captain and crew. The work done on the ship wasn't done to "Starfleet Specifications". Nothing Samuel did could or would change the culture on the vessel. He asked for a transfer in 2400 citing too many disagreements with the captain. Other Notes: Sam carries a black belt in Kung Fu, Jujitsu, and Judo. He's a quick study and can read situations early on and prescribe the appropriate action. Also there are people after him, most notably two Klingon High Houses, one Orion Syndicate Clan, several Ferengi traders and the Carribia Pirate Fleet. At times they have caused trouble for whatever ship he happens to be serving on. It was during his time aboard USS Ulysses that he met Katherine. The USS Ulysses' homeport was Starbase 400. They had a chance meeting and a passionate relationship bloomed, a quick marriage later the eventual strain of Starfleet life began to show. Being separated over long distances didn’t help and ended up in paperwork being filed for divorce. It’s only recently discovered “that due to a technical error” he was in-fact, still married to Katherine. Katherine requested a transfer to Samuel’s latest assignment, the USS Iroquois. It was the second biggest surprise of his life...
