Personality & Traits

General Overview Kate is a friendly, welcoming person. She always greets people with a warm smile, some find it unusual given her Vulcan heritage but Kate chose not to purge her emotions. She’s empathic, a line of sight or touch telepath, and can mind meld.

Personal History Born on Vulcan after a complicated pregnancy for her mother, Katherine spent her life between Vulcan and the Federation. Her father wanted her to be educated in the Vulcan ways, whilst her mother was against her child purging her emotions. In the long run it was left to Kate to decide what she wanted to do, her decision not to purge her emotions didn’t go down well with her father.

At the age of eighteen Katherine applied to Starfleet Academy wanting to follow in her mother’s footsteps. She was delighted to be accepted but found it hard around other Vulcan students who tended to avoid her. Nonetheless she studied hard and eventually graduated in the top percentile of her year.

In the years since her graduation Kate has served aboard several Starships as well as a Starbase, utilising her areas of expertise in all her assignments.

It was during her time aboard Starbase 400 that she met Samuel Arrow, his ship the USS Ulysses was based at the Starbase. A passionate relationship bloomed, a quick marriage later the eventual strain of Starfleet life began to show. Being separated over long distances didn’t help and ended up in paperwork being filed for divorce. It wasn’t until a month later that Katherine discovered she was pregnant.

It’s only recently that Kate discovered “that due to a technical error” she was in-fact still married to Samuel. Requesting assignment to her husband’s ship she was pleased to be assigned aboard the USS Iroquois.
